London Honey Show 2012 – Lancaster London

In 2009, the eco-friendly Lancaster London made headlines when half a million honey bees checked in! The hotel was roused into action over the sharp decline in honey bees and became the first central London hotel to install beehives on its roof. The hotel's "Bee Team" collect 140kg of honey annually, which is then served in the hotel's Island Grill. Mini pots are also given as gifts to HONEYmooners! In 2011, the hotel stepped up its crusade to save honey bees by organising and hosting the first “London Honey Show” on 10 October 2011. The hotel invited bee-keeping enthusiasts, commercial producers, exhibitors and the general public to the event, to promote the awareness of honey bees. Lancaster London is excited to be hosting the 2nd London Honey Show on Monday 8 October 2012.

After last year's Honey Show, Lancaster London Hotel generously donated the contents of its tombola to Bees Action Network, enabling us to continue our work supplying pure forage for bees.  At the Honey Show this year (2012) we will be running the tombola!

Earlier this year, Julian Lennon's White Feather Foundation made a generous donation to help fund our work providing good pure forage for bees.  The White Feather Foundation embraces environmental and humanitarian issues and in conjunction with partners from around the world, helps to raise funds for the betterment of all life and honours those who have truly made a difference.  The Foundation has been focusing on ways that we can all make a difference in what has become a rather sensitively-balanced world.

Symbolically, a white feather has personal meaning for Julian Lennon and it became a natural name for his new Foundation -

 The White Feather Foundation.

In 2009 The Leeds Building Society put our collection boxes in all of it's 67 branches to help bees.  Their kindness and generosity raised funds for our work in 2010.
